Lake Manyara is a relatively small lake, covering an area of about 230 square kilometers (89 square miles) when it’s at its fullest. It is a shallow lake with a maximum depth of around 3 meters (10 feet). The lake’s water level can vary significantly depending on the season and rainfall.

The park is also famous for its birdlife, with over 400 bird species documented in the area. It’s a haven for birdwatchers, and you can see many waterfowl, flamingos, pelicans, and various raptors, among others, around the lake.
